Onion pakora recipe
Crispy Onion Pakora is one of the most favorite Pakistani as well as Indian snacks during Monsoons or Winter days. These fritters taste even better when served with some delicious Chutneys.
Pakora are deep fried snack made with gram flour, salt, spices,and a main ingredient onion.
Pakora are easy to prepare when you have sudden guest or friend home and you love to make them feel special.
Ingredients
- 1. 2-3 Onions
- 2. 2 tsp Salt
- 3. 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
- 4. 2 tsp Ginger (finely chopped)
- 5. 2 tsp Coriander Leaves (finely chopped)
- 6. 2 tsp Green Chillies (finely chopped)
- 7. 1 tsp chat masala powder
- 8. 1 cup Besan
- 9. 2 tbsp Rice Flour
- 10. 2 tbsp Oil
- 11. ⅛ tsp Turmeric Powder
- 12. 1 pinch Baking Soda
- 13. Oil (as required, for frying)
- Ingredients
Peel the onions and slice then into thin slices.
- Mix sliced onion, salt, red chilli powder, ginger, coriander, green chilli and hing in a bowl.
- Mash well using your hands.
- Keep aside for 10 minutes.
- Add besan, rice flour and oil and mix well.
- Add turmeric powder, baking soda and 2-3 tbsp water and mix well to make a thick pakora batter.
- Heat oil for frying in a pan.
- Once the oil is hot, adjust the heat to medium.
- Drop small pakoras in the hot oil and fry until the pakora are golden brown and crisp.
- Drain on a plate lined with kitchen towel.
- Sprinkle chaat masala on top and serve immediately.
- Note
- Always use good quality gram flour, as it tempers the taste of the Pakoras. Always taste the gram flour before making the Pakora, as the store-bought gram flour can get bitter if too old.
